All my favourite cartoons were animals.  The Hillbilly Bears, Quickdraw McGraw/El Kabong, Secret Squirrel, who can forget their antics?

My fascination with animals endures to this day.  Observing, learning, predicting, philosophising are all part of one's physical and mental gymnastic routines to sharpen the proverbial saw.  Animals provide an endless source of inspiration for humour, cartoon characterization, animation and engagement. 

 

In an ultra-sensitive world of political correctness, let animals be the perfect metaphor to reflect upon our own biases and behaviour.  Maybe we can learn what we should aspire to be humans - from animals.
